Mpox Communications Toolkit & Creative Assets

During the 2022 Mpox Outbreak, NCSD partnered with CDC to conduct a series of six AI-driven online focus groups with GBMSM to understand their vaccine decisions and test key messages about mpox and the vaccine. All told, these focus groups included more than 300 GBMSM and transgenser women. NCSD subsequently partnered with communications agency SKDK to develop a suite of creative assets for health departments and community-based organizations to communicate about the mpox vaccine.
The Mpox Communications Toolkit includes resources to help health departments partner with media proactively or in response to an outbreak. Tools included in the toolkit include templates for press releases and blog posts, talking points, and a step-by-step planning guide for press events.
Use the Mpox Communications Toolkit and Creative Assets to share important information about the mpox vaccine with your community. Use the Communications Toolkit to work with local media to raise awareness about mpox or respond to outbreaks. Use the Creative Assets to remind people that mpox is still around and about the benefits of completing the two-dose mpox vaccine series.
